About Block Puzzle
Seven shapes, a ten-wide well, and the same question over and over: where does this one go so the next one still has somewhere to land? It's the most readable puzzle game ever made, and one of the least forgiving, because every choice you make shrinks the list of choices you get next.
Scoring rewards patience. Clearing one row at a time keeps you breathing but barely moves the counter. Keep a clean four-deep gap down one side, drop a long piece into it, and you score more in one go than eight single clears put together. Building that gap, and trusting the piece you need will turn up, is most of the skill curve right there.
Everything you would expect is here: a ghost piece showing exactly where the current shape will land, a hold slot for stashing something awkward, four pieces of preview, a hard drop, and a soft drop that doesn't punish you for using it. The level goes up every ten rows you clear, and gravity goes up with it.
Getting better at Block Puzzle
- Keep the stack flat. Every bump you leave is a hole waiting to happen.
- Save one column as a well for the long straight piece.
- Treat the hold slot as an escape hatch, not a parking space.
